Pay Attention: All of CalDigit’s docks are fully compatible with the new M1-based Macs including the ability to charge a laptop and more. However, the only limitation is that the new M1-based Macs cannot support dual “Extended” displays through their Thunderbolt 3 ports. This means that when using any dock, users cannot extend their desktop over two displays, and will be limited to either dual “Mirrored” displays or 1 external display depending on the dock. Double the performance of Gen. 1
The benefits of a 10Gb/s USB-C device over a 5Gb/s device set it apart from vast amount of hubs on the market. Whether you want to take full advantage of a 4K 60Hz monitor or connect an ultra-fast SSD, the USB-C SOHO Dock has all the features you need in a small bus-powered device.
The USB-C SOHO Dock has the ability to be bus-powered, making it an ideal solution for users that need to expand their connectivity on the road. This is ideal for photographers, or anyone that needs to access SD cards and USB devices in the field.
In addition the USB-C SOHO Dock’s dual video connectors and pass-through charging capability make it an ideal desktop docking solution for creative professionals looking to expand their laptop’s connectivity in an elegant solution.
Built-in dual monitor connectivity
In order to really take advantage of dual monitor connectivity a 10Gb/s USB-C device is a must. Whilst traditional USB-C hubs make do with half the performance, the USB-C SOHO Dock is able to take full advantage of its 10Gb/s performance to offer dual video connectivity. Up until now dual monitor connectivity had been resigned to full-size mains powered USB-C docks. This is now available in a compact and portable device.
Pass-through laptop charging and plug and play
The beauty of USB-C is that it incorporates up to 100W power delivery into it’s design. This means that when you connect your laptop’s USB-C charger to the SOHO Dock it will be powering the SOHO Dock and its attached USB devices, in addition to charging your laptop.
The actual power that will be supplied to your laptop will vary based on the wattage of your USB-C charger, and how many USB devices are attached to the SOHO Dock. This pass-through charging functionality is not only limited to laptops since the SOHO Dock will also charge the iPad Pro, Windows Tablets, and USB-C Smart Phones.
Unlike many USB-C devices on the market that require drivers to connect dual displays, the SOHO Dock works right out of the box on macOS and Windows, without the stress of installing drivers. The SOHO is a complete plug and play solution.
Full speed 10Gb/s data port
Anyone that has used a traditional Gen.1 USB-C hub will know that the USB ports offer limited performance capabilities. The USB-C SOHO Dock’s front-facing USB-C and USB-A data ports offer full 10Gb/s performance, double that of traditional hubs. This means that for any users looking to connect high-performance SSD storage devices, the USB-C SOHO Dock will offer much faster speeds
The dual SD 4.0 and microSD 4.0 card readers both support UHS-II speeds that will significantly improve your file transfer speeds.
Whether you are using a USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 laptop, the USB-C SOHO Dock will work on both.
