Synology Active Protect Manager License

Each DP unit can be used independently for free after purchase. There is no recurring license fee for using the product. However, if you want to create a centrally managed system, there is a limit of 3x devices in the cluster. For deployment of more than 3 units within the same ActiveProtect cluster, an Active Protect Manager license is required for each additional unit.

This license consists of a virtual code. This is valid for 1x device (regardless of the device) and for 3x years.

This license must be activated via the Synology Account that centrally manages the units.

Note: It is possible to activate multiple licenses at the same time for a longer validity period.

Example:

• A single DP7400 unit: no license fee
• A cluster of 3x DP7400: no license fee
• A cluster of 4x DP7400: 1x license required
• A cluster of 5x DP7400: 2x license required
• A cluster of 3x DP7400 and 2x DP320: 2x license required
