Synology Surveillance Device License Packs are intended to expand the cameras and I/O modules connected to Synology Surveillance Station. By default, two device licenses are installed on a DiskStation or RackStation. However, if Surveillance Station runs on Virtual DSM or Docker DSM, no standard device licenses are included.

Overview
By applying the license key on the Surveillance Station user interface, you can install and manage multiple devices on the network. Typically, each IP camera and I/O module will only require one license. However, there are some cameras that have different billing methods. Please refer to the section below for more information.

To find out the maximum number of supported IP cameras and I/O modules on each Synology product, please refer to the specifications of each model.

Please note: This product contains one license code, which allows you to activate 8 additional cameras on one Synology at once. The licenses cannot therefore be divided among multiple Synologies.

Note: The latest release of Surveillance Station can now also support I/O modules. Synology has merged the I/O module license into the IP Camera license, the naming of the license package has been changed from Camera License Pack to Device License Pack. It follows the exact Camera License Pack rule, so the product is the same.
